The Neighborhood Civic PAC is designed to help jumpstart civic associations in various neighborhoods and resurrect ones that were once mighty and help such associations get acclimated to the political process so that they may utilize this to the advantage of the neighborhood and constituency for which they represent.

Who Fills Mariano's Seat?

With Rick Mariano almost certainly to vacate his City Council seat, the next logical question is, who gets it? It appears there have been some rumblings about Angel Cruz, but what about John Sabatina Jr who was planning to run for Alan Butkovitz's seat if Butkovitz won the Controller's race (Sabatina is already way ahead in name rec, labor support and money than other would be candidates). Nevertheless, maybe a deal would be struck where Lisa Deeley would be able to take Butko's seat thus keeping both factions happy. Any other names out there?
Nevertheless, we wish Councilman Mariano all the best as he deals with his inner struggles.

UPDATE - Wednesday, 10-26-05...
Rick Mariano was indicted yesterday and the Daily News has run a story about possible foes lining up for his seat. Angel Cruz was mentioned in the article as was , also mentioned were several familiar and past foes such as John Sabatina Sr, Maria Quinones Sanchez and Kathy Fitzpatrick. Lastly, another name that came out was Walt DeTreux, mariano's Former Chief of Staff. This could get interesting, more info available at http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/news/local/12998207.htm
